Since 2013, our aim has been to share with you the things that we love about Nashville. When we began, we were an Instagram account of blurry phone photos from rock and roll shows and a single calendar with links to every concert, show, and event we heard about with very little expectations of this thing going anywhere. Honestly, I figured if I was going to be going to shows 4 nights a week, I may as well document it somewhere. It wasn't long before people started to take notice and invites started coming from drink festivals, restaurants, local artists and business owners that they would like to be included in our coverage.
In 2015, we officially began digested. nashville, the food & drink section of the blog and started covering some of the city's biggest food and drink events and festivals, restaurant openings, and food summits. It was then when we decided that we also wanted to focus out efforts on those giving back by sharing information about local food pantries and resources for the community. That's when we officially became a part of the independent press.
We've covered a lot of ground since then. I like to think we have a become a proper outlet for information and a (hopefully) reliable place to find out what's happening from the people who live here and have a stake in the community, but more importantly, those who want to give back. Over the years, we began to cover not only independent music, but all independent art; as well as local businesses, restaurants, and creative people that make up the soul of the city.
There are a couple of things you should know:
We believe that Black Lives Matter. We stand proudly with the LGBTQIA+ community. We believe it's our duty as members of this community that we love to fight for it to be the best version of itself, ensuring that we- the people who make it up- get to decide what the soul of the city should be. We believe that the climate crisis is real. We believe that everyone deserves a place to live and access to healthy food. We believe in equal pay for equal work and that the minimum wage should be a living wage. We believe in science. We believe that every child deserves access to a comprehensive and honest education, regardless of skin color or socioeconomic status. We believe that people will always be more important than money.
The thing that makes Nashville special is the people.
Take care of each other out there and remember to have enough tolerance for two.
